It’s Vegas Baby!

It probably comes to no surprise to anyone that Team Cocktail LOVES Vegas!  I mean after all we do have a t-shirt designed specifically for this one-of-a-kind, hot sun, cold drinks, late night, destination.

Team Cocktail Women’s Vegas T-shirts

We have been there so many times we can’t even count, or remember some of them.  So as we were discussing how to share our latest adventures we thought we would go with our favorite hot spots, bartenders and drinks from our most recent trip in December.  We visited a lot of places so be warned…you may want to pour a cocktail before reading this post!  Cheers!

Aria Hotel & Casino
What a cool, sleek, modern hotel!  We were immediately impressed with the front desk staff, who were smiling, courteous and really fast.  Oh and they gave us vouchers for two free drinks….guess they knew Team Cocktail would be arriving!  So off to our room to drop off the bags and then to the bar!  I mean it was 10am and we were parched!  Nothing like a bloody mary to start the day!

The View Bar (Aria)
This was a great lobby bar at Aria.  Manny, who was our favorite bartender, mixed a great cocktail and had just the right mix of charisma, humor & fun.  One thing we loved about the view bar was how they served the drinks.   They would pour your spirit of choice in the glass over rocks and then give you a carafe of your mixer.  So you could blend your perfect cocktail!  We think this is a genius idea and that more bars should be doing this.  So if you go to The View Bar please tell Manny we said hello!

American Fish (Aria)
So, when we asked our followers on Twitter for suggestions in Vegas for Oysters & a good happy hour menu we heard back from @Americanfish.  Since we are loyal to our Twitter followers we gave it a shot for happy hour!  Let’s just say they have a great happy hour menu…we highly suggest the Oysters!  Delicious!!

Red Square (Mandalay Bay)
The Russian themed bar is perfect for any vodka lover, which is why we chose to go there!  They have countless vodkas on hand, so go ahead and grab the vodka menu, close your eyes, and play a little vodka roulette!

If you are looking for an appetizer with your martini we recommend ordering the Siberian Nachos and the salt and pepper fried calamari were outstanding.  So belly up to the ice bar and enjoy the Russian decor and of course your martini!

Note:  If you are not a martini drinker and are just looking for a vodka based cocktail, don’t be nervous about using their house vodka as it is Русский Стандарт (Russian Standard), which is a great tasting and very smooth vodka for the price.

Mix Lounge (The Hotel)
If you are looking for a big time Vegas nightclub experience I would recommend Tao or Pure, but if you are looking for a laid back atmosphere with outstanding views of the strip then this might be the place for you.  There was no line to get in and cover was free as we were staying at The Hotel.  We were able to snag a table outside, but I’m not sure if it is usually open seating or if it was because it was a December night. Also, there was no lines at the bar, which means no waiting for cocktails!

Tacos & Tequila (Luxor)
They have great guacamole and margaritas – what more do you want from a mexican restaurant!  Shout out to Heather, our bartender, who took great care of us!

ARCS (Mandalay Place Shops)
For those of you that love to get your hair done, we’ve got the place for you.  ARCS is owned by Robert Cromeans who is an artistic director for the Paul Mitchell brand and is located in the Mandalay Place Shopping Center.  Everything about this salon is hip and stylish, from the atmosphere to the hairdressers.   It’s a little pricey but definitely worth it!  Not only did I get great coffee and a head massage, but I also got the best cut and color of my life.  Thanks Jen S, I LOVE my new hair!

Yellowtail (Bellagio)
While in Vegas we had to fulfill our sushi craving and we were able to get our fix at Yellowtail.  We had sushi and sashimi and everything we ordered was phenomenal.  I highly recommend ordering the edamame as you receive it two ways. In one bowl you receive the edamame with the sea salt and in the other bowl you receive it with a sweet chili sauce on it, which is both interesting and good at the same time.  We recommend trying the Essence martini, which is made with cucumber vodka.  Enjoy!

The Cosmopolitan Hotel & Casino
The Cosmopolitan is the newest hotel and casino in Las Vegas.  It opened it’s doors on December 15, so we had to check it out.  Let me say the place is absolutely amazing from a visual standpoint.  Immediately when you walk in the first thing you see is the three story bar called the Chandelier.  With a bar on each floor and beads of crystals surrounding the whole thing, it is quite the site.  We were told by our waitress that there are over two million crystals around the bars.  Not sure if this is dead on accurate, but we’ll take her word for it.  Everything in the hotel, from the gaming area to restaurants are high class.  Definitely worth the look if you are on the strip.

Holsteins (The Cosmopolitan)
This is a new gourmet burger joint located inside The Cosmopolitan.  We sat on the lounge side by the bar and were able to catch all of the NFL games, while enjoying a tasty burger.  Go ahead and try the bloody mary as it comes served in a martini glass…oh and the giant shrimp is a nice touch!

STK  (The Cosmopolitan)
As you can tell we really enjoyed The Cosmopolitan, so we decided to try the new steakhouse STK.  This steakhouse is different than many others we have been to in that it played louder, better music than most steakhouses.  They even had a DJ which gave it a very unique and cool vibe.  We could definitely tell the place was new as they were a little understaffed, but the manager on duty was great and definitely took care of us.   Once we paid the bill we headed down to the bar area which had turned in to a dance party.  So in true Team Cocktail spirit we of course joined the party!  Nothing like dancing off that heavy steak and a day full of cocktails!  Party on STK!  The bone-in filet was incredible, the Truffle fries were out of this world and the oysters that we ordered for an appetizer were perfect.

The Heart Bar (Planet Hollywood)
All we have to say is that Sam at The Heart Bar in Planet Hollywood mixed the best Bloody Caesar we have ever had in Vegas! He had all the ingredients out and used no pre-mixed lame concoction.   Please tell Sam hello from Team Cocktail if you go and make sure to ask for the Team Cocktail extra spicy bloody Caesar!  Cheers!

Cabo Wabo
Alright we admit, from the street it looks like a lame tourist trap, a fake beach bar on the strip.  Well it kind of is, but we don’t care because we loved it!  The margarita’s were great, the music was fun, and our server knew just what we wanted…and that was shots of tequila at 1pm.  Let’s just say by the time we left we were feeling no pain and that was at 2pm!  Gotta love Vegas!

To say the least…our flight out the next morning came way to quick.  But we had another great time in an always unforgettable destination.  Until next time Vegas!  Cheers!
