The Quest for the Green Flash

If you have spent any time at a beach you may have noticed people lining up to watch the sunset. I know we always do…and we are always in search of the Green Flash.

Green Flashes are an optical phenomena that occur just after sunset or just before sunrise as the sun is right below the horizon. There are visible green rays that shoot up from the sunset/sunrise point, thus creating the Green Flash. They are typically seen on a clear evening where there is little to no cloud cover and there is nothing on the horizon, which makes the ocean a perfect place to see them. They are absolutely amazing and can be seen from all over the world. We are lucky to have seen them on many different occasions such as the beach in San Diego, on a cruise ship in the Caribbean and most recently on Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos Islands. Watch the video to see for yourself…and pay close attention because we caught two flashes! Which is a phenomenon in and of itself!

Note: It is best to watch a

Green Flash with a cocktail in hand…for some reason you seem to see more green flashes that way!
