Thirsty Thursday – It’s Eggnog Time!

It’s time to put on your dickey, throw on your sweater, and grab your moose shaped eggnog glass because it’s Christmas time!

Last week I wrote about 4 easy drink recipes for the Holidays.  Well this week, in honor of my favorite Christmas movie…Chrismas Vacation, I decided to share an awesome recipe for eggnog that would even make Cousin Eddie jealous!

Ingredients
12 egg yolks
1 cup sugar
1 gallon of half & half
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp nutmeg
4 cups Spiced Rum, Bourbon, or Brandy

Preparation
1) Beat egg yolks in mixer
2) Add sugar and blend until light & fluffy
3) Add BOOZE and mix until blended
4) Add vanilla, half & half, and nutmeg
5) Blend until frothy.

Let it sit in the fridge for an hour or two and enjoy!

Now if you’re like me and just want to enjoy some alcoholic eggnog, but don’t want to go through all the preparation here is an easy recipe:

Ingredients
Store bought Eggnog
Rum, Brandy, Whiskey, whatever liquor you like!

Preparation
1) Grab car keys and head to car.
2) Drive to the grocery store.
3) Go to dairy section and grab a carton of eggnog.
4) Go to liquor department and buy your favorite liquor.
5) Pay the cashier for said eggnog & liquor.
6) Drop change into Salvation Army bucket on your way out.  It’s Christmas we can all spare some change.
7) Drive home, but do NOT open liquor bottle!  You can’t enjoy your eggnog in jail.
8 ) Mix eggnog with liquor & enjoy!

Whether you like to put in the time or just want to have your spiked eggnog ASAP I hope you enjoy these recipes and have a Merry Christmas!

Cheers!

Trey

*Note:  I realize there is a space between the 8 and the ) under preparation. Well apparently if you put an 8 and a ) right next to each other you get this… 8) and I am not one to use emoticons.  I’m even ashamed that I know they are called emoticons. (insert sad emoticon)
