With the New Year comes those famed “New Years Resolutions,” most commonly recognized resolution- to lose weight and be healthier. Well, many may think that this should include ridding yourself of your favorite adult beverages because they’re loaded with calories (the calories professionals may call ‘empty’), I however, disagree. At the very least, you could find an alternative to your favorite drink that is somehow not as bad for you. For example, I LOVE Margaritas, but realistically they are not so good for you. Aside from the whole having alcohol in them, they’re generally loaded with sugars, meaning lots of calories. Guestimations put the Margarita’s calorie count somewhere between quite a few (let’s say 350) and A LOT (900+).
You may now find yourself wondering what you could possibly do to stick to your resolution but still enjoy this fantastic cocktail. My suggestion, “Bare Mixers.” This bottle is packed with lots of refreshing
flavor, and only 4 ingredients: Water, 100% Lemon Juice, 100% Lime Juice, and Organic Agave Nectar. All you have to do: shake 3 parts mixer to 1 part tequila, add a squeeze of fresh lime, and bam!, you have a low-calorie great-tasting Margarita! Not only is your cocktail around only 140 calories, it’s also wicked refreshing! Picture Grandma’s fresh squeezed lemonade but with a little extra kick.
So, to all of our New Year’s health-junkies, feel free to run your marathons and 5k’s or Pilates or Zumba, or whatever it is that get’s your calories burning, but don’t forget to reward yourself for your hard work! Shaking up a good cocktail can be a workout too!! Happy New Year!
