The Nashville Nook: Broadway’s Best

The Nashville Nook: Broadway’s Best Edition

Greetings from Biddy & Boots! Now, when you visit Nashville you will quickly discover that lower Broadway is the heart of downtown, and the heart of the city. With hundreds of bars and honky tonks for your partying pleasure, Broadway is fun and alive any day or night of the week. So, for our latest Nashville Nook, we wanted to share some of our favorite spots! Of course, any honky tonk or bar you go to in Nashville is almost guaranteed to be a good time, but the options can be a little overwhelming if you’re a newcomer. So, we wanted to give you some guidance and tell you a little about our top 5 favorites!

Keep in mind these are in no specific order, as it’s impossible to choose our favorite…

  1. Nashville’s Legendary LEGENDS CORNER Bar: This legendary bar always provides good music and good times. It’s a smaller, more intimate bar on the corner of 5th and Broadway, diagonal from the Bridgestone Arena. The walls are lined with photos of famous musicians and has a very original honkey tonk feel. There are two levels with multiple bars, and live music fills the entire place coming from some of the best musicians on Broadway! Check out the cute back patio if you’re looking for some fresh air. And, if the line is too long, pop around to the back alley entrance; a local secret. Make sure to pop into Legends Gifts next door and pick up some of our TC swag, while you’re at it!

2. RIPPY’S Bar & Grill: This bar has quickly become a favorite because of its’ three levels of live music! Each level has its’ own bar and a great band to compliment! You’ll never be disappointed with the talent that runs through this place. They usually have a fiddle player on hand, so make sure to request “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” to get the place really rocking. The top floor opens its’ walls during the summer months and is an easy place to get lost in for hours with your friends. Trust us, we’ve done that many times! We’re also pretty fond of their queso and chicken tenders if you’re hungry (great drunk food).

3. The Stage On Broadway: The Stage is the perfect name for this bar because there are so many stages…EVERYWHERE. The first floor consists of a massive stage, always housing a band full of talent. There’s a huge dance floor parallel to a full bar. As you go up the stairs, you’ll discover more and more spaces featuring all different kinds of live music. It’s kind of like a maze… A-MAZING! Also, the rooftop is one of our favorites in town, too! It’s half outside, half inside with heaters for the colder Tennessee days and nights. You’re sure to love this place.

4. The Valentine: This bar has a unique and different atmosphere than most bars on Broadway. It features four different levels, all with their own bar. You can usually find a country cover band on the first floor carrying up to the second floor, with the balcony on the second floor overlooking the stage down below. The third and fourth floor usually have DJs if you’re looking to dance to top 40 and throwback jams alike. The Valentine has a dark and swanky vibe throughout the establishment, with a transitioning rooftop that adapts to the seasons. Plus, every Thursday on the rooftop is LADIES NIGHT, with awesome drink specials that can’t be beat! You know we love that!

5. Crazytown: This place is one of Broadway’s newest hot spots for all generations. This bar includes three levels, with multiple bars on each level and a different style of live music on each floor. The first floor consists of a great band covering your favorite country tunes. The second floor has more of a rock/pop rock feel where they cover all types of genres. And, if you’re looking to really get your grove on, head to the top floor where you’ll find an awesome DJ spinning and everyone dancing the night away. This is sure to be one of the liveliest rooftops on Broadway!

We hope you get a chance to check out our favorite Broadway bars on your next visit to Nashville. This town might just steal your soul…and a little (BIG) piece of your heart!
